These NINOX night vision clamshell helmet mount bags are honestly way more useful than I expected. They were originally made to carry night vision gear, but I’ve found them perfect for all kinds of stuff. They’re made from a tough, waterproof material and are just the right size to hold a hootchie or a six tinnies. Ideal for camping, hiking, or any sort of outdoor trip.

I took a couple on a recent canoe trip and used them to organise all the smaller bits in my pack. They are perfect for things like mozzie nets, hootchies, food, and beers. Unfortunately, I flipped the canoe between camps and lost a few tinnies to the river (tragic, I know). But everything else stayed dry inside my pack, which was a nice surprise considering they only close with a drawstring. Definitely more waterproof than they look.

Each bag has a main compartment plus a smaller Velcro pocket on the front. This is great for keeping quick-access stuff like a lighter, knife, or some snacks. They’re also new old stock, so you’re getting unused military surplus gear: built tough, made to last.

I reckon if you planned it out properly, these would make great little ration packs or pre-packed kits for different bits of gear. Super handy to just chuck into your main bag and keep everything sorted. And they’re not bulky either, which helps when you’re trying to pack light but still stay organised.

All in all, highly recommend grabbing a couple if you stumble across them. You’ll find a use for them, no worries
